To shake prisons with the gospel of Jesus Christ and make disciples of those incarcerated.
What does Jesus say?
Jesus had a fascinating dialogue with a Samaritan woman while His disciples were getting food. When they returned the disciples were surprised to find Jesus speaking to a woman, let alone a woman with a bad reputation. Jesus used this opportunity to teach the disciples about the harvest.
“Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest. 36 Already he who reaps is receiving wages and is gathering fruit for life eternal; so that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this case the saying is true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’ “JOHN 4:35-37
Jesus wanted the disciples to realize that as long as His followers are willing to go to all people (even those in prison) we will always find souls ready to hear and receive the Gospel. Jesus also wanted His followers to understand that the harvest is a team effort. Some sow and some reap, but both are needed and can rejoice together.
